The world has shut down and we all are stuck in the house and can’t go anywhere. Are you finding yourself shopping online more because you are bored and trying to find something to do with your time? Debt is just a click away and so easy to accumulate.

Replace shopping with staying connected with your family and friends. There are different virtual platforms such as Zoom, Facetime, Skype, Google Meetings and more. You can still feel like you have a social life while using these virtual platforms.

Instead of shopping on the internet, here are 9 free things you can do on video messaging apps.

Wine and Chat/Happy Hour– Grab your favorite beverage and get online and chat with your family and friends.

Book Club Meeting– Grab your girlfriends and choose a book and give yourself and date when to read the book by and discuss

Lip Syncing– Pick a theme for music you like, Disney, 90’s, country, R & B and more. For more fun use props.

Karaoke– Choose a song on Youtube and sing your heart out. For example, Savage by Megan Thee Stallion Karaoke version.

Game Night– Many of popular games can be played on video like: Charades, Bingo, Head Up, Scattergories, Finish the lyrics or Pictionary. I have been playing scattergories for a couple of weeks and we spice it up by doubling and tripling the points each round.

Spa Night– Apply your favorite mask product. You are sharing self-care with your friends and your face will thank you.

Couples Chat– Play your own version of the newlywed game and give the winning couple a $10 gift card.

Cooking/Baking Showcase- If you are a great cook, you can teach others on how to make your favorite dish.

Celebrations-Celebrate your favorite milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and baby showers.

The next time you are eager to click “submit order now” consider connecting with friends and family virtually.

  1. Wow! I needed this reminder. I’ve been pretty good until the last week, it’s been too easy and too much with “ just one click to place ordeR’s”. Gonna remove that app from my phone till it’s safe
